which pic(s) in the gallery are your favorites?
personally, i have a thing about the big convex safety mirrors that are placed at blind intersections and alleys. they're usually above eye level which gives a different and unique perspective to an otherwise ordinary scene, plus there's the curvature aspect.
here's one of my faves: www.mirrorproject.com/mirror/recent/
i can't wait for the weather to get better outside to shoot more - i've had quite enough of this winter gig, although heather _has_ been posting some very nice winter pics on hchamp.com...

Thu, March 11, 2004 - 11:25 AMI kinda like this one of Zeldman: www.mirrorproject.com/search/results/ . Partly because later it made it to the cover of his book ( www.zeldman.com/dwws/ ).
I also enjoy the ones (many, actually) that transport me to a day in the life of a faraway, exotic (to me) place, to which I may never be able to travel. The Claire Poisson's (France), the Hugo Solo's (Spain), the Roland Peschetz's (All over the place) ... the usual suspects.
Oh, and Alexander Colhoun's South Pole pic. ( www.mirrorproject.com/search/results/ ). -

Re: your favorite?
Fri, March 12, 2004 - 3:44 PMand you know, for a professional photographer, sandy colhoun is a really nice guy. i've come across other photographs that might be suitable, but dealing with the photographers has been poopy.
i actually had some discussion with someone at NASA about this image:
Charles Conrad, Apollo 12: Self-Portrait, 1969
antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap030315.html
It's in the public domain and as long as it's credited, it could be posted.

Re: your favorite?
Fri, March 12, 2004 - 7:22 PMthe apollo "man on the moon" photographs are a very controversial series, aren't they? conspiracy theorists who first saw this series of images thought that it wasn't actually possible that man had landed on the moon as the astronaut(s) reflected in the visor(s) were all too clearly lit. then there is the one of armstrong (i think) with the earth in the background and the index marks being overlapped by the lunar lander (or was it the buggy?)
whatever, they are remarkable photographs and very well executed imho.
(p.s.: where is everybody? even hugo is silent. hello? hello? ground control to major tom?)
